Simple Gluten-Free Asian Saute

 (Serves two people,  One can throw this dish togetehr in a variety of ways.  Use your imagination, then enjoy your dinner!)

 Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons of Vegetable Oil. *
  • 1 Tablespoons of Sesame Oil. *
  • 2 Pieces (about 4-6 ounces each) of thin-cut boneless pork, chicken or beef.
  • Salt (to taste).
  • White pepper (to taste).
  • Garlic salt (to taste). *
  • 4 Tablespoons of Honey. *
  • 2 Teaspoons of Soy Sauce. *
  • 1 Cup per serving of Fresh Vegetables.  Combine any of the following: (sliced mushrooms, squash, onions, cabbage, baby corn, snow peas, bamboo shoots etc..).
  • 1/4 Cup per serving of a sweet fruits.  Combine any of the following: (diced pineapple, golden raisins, sesame seeds, cashews, peanuts, fresh peaches, nectarines or apples.).
  • (Optional) 2 Tablespoons of Cooking Sherry.

 Process:

  1. Pre-season meat with salt, white or black pepper, and garlic salt.
  2. Heat small skillet with oils on about 5, until oil is about to smoke.
  3. Carefully place meat in skillet.
  4. Within about 4-6 minutes, turn the meat over.
  5. Add vegetables in the order of their cooking time and your desired doneness.
  6. Sprinkle ingredients with honey and soy sauce.
  7. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.  (If meat is cooking faster than vegetables, place meat over top of vegetables in skillet.)
  8. Add fruits.
  9. Add cooking sherry if using.
  10. Serve over rice.

 Optional:

  • For a thicker sauce, one can very lightly dust the pieces of meat in Gluten-Free Flour * or Corn Starch * just prior to placing the meat in the skillet.

 * Be sure to use Gluten-Free brands of these ingredients.
